Amy Alderman, Early Childhood Academy Assistant Director.
Amy has worked at Hochberg Prep for the past 5 years as a Jr. Kindergarten teacher and administrative assistant. She graduated from the Ohio State University with a B.S in Child Development and has 13 years of teaching experience. Her goal is to continue growing as a professional to give the children at Hochberg Preparatory the best possible learning experiences to help them grow and develop.
Melanie Sheinbaum, Jr. Kindergarten Co-Teacher.
Melanie holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Certificate in Speech and Language Pathology. She has many years of experience working with young children in summer camps and school settings. Melanie is so happy to join us and states that being a teacher is something she has always wanted to do.
Sandra Reich, Shelley Building Toddler Teacher.
Sandra comes to us from Colombia, where she received a Master’s Degree in Bilingual education. She also holds a B.S. in Speech and Communication from Emerson College in Boston. Sandra has 12 years of teaching experience in pre-schools, and enjoys working with young children and their families.
Leyda Rodrigues-Rios, Shelley Building Toddler Assistant Teacher.
Leyda has been employed at Family Central for 12 years as a Child Facilitator working with children and their parents to increase parent child interactions through play. She has an educational background in early childhood education.
Diana Feldman, Pre-Toddler Assistant Teacher.
Diana has been working with children in a school for the past 3 years and looks forward to growing professionally while enjoying her work with our young children. She is multi-lingual and speaks Russian and Hebrew in addition to English. Diana is a graduate of our Early Childhood Program!
Caroline Hart, Kindergarten Teacher.
We are pleased to welcome Ms. Caroline Hart. She will be joining the Hochberg Team as a Kindergarten Teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. She brings professionalism and knowledge with a Bachelor of Arts in Child Studies and a Master's Degree in Educational Studies. She has extensive experience in teaching, including working as a Kindergarten teacher in a Jewish Day School for over seven years.
Julie Wainberg, 3rd Grade Teacher.
It is a pleasure to share with you that our new Third Grade Teacher is Mrs. Julie Wainberg. Her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master's Degree in Special Education provide her with an in depth understanding of all children and their needs. She has experience with various levels of students, ranging from pre-school age through fifth grade.
Samantha Goldberg, Kindergarten Assistant Teacher.
We are so excited to welcome Ms. Samantha Goldberg to our Hochberg Prep family. Samantha received her Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University. She will be working as our Kindergarten Assistant. She has extensive experience working with Kindergarten children and brings a love of creativity into the classroom.
Marci Klein, Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher.
We are delighted to welcome Marci Klein onto the Middle School team as our new Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from University of Florida, her Master’s Degree in Reading from University of Florida, and she has over 20 years of experience in teaching.
James Coscia, Middle School Math Teacher.
We are excited to welcome James Coscia as a Teacher on our Middle School’s Math team. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from State University of New York (SUNY) College and has over 12 years of experience in teaching. He also has a very strong sports background.
Carlos Lopez, Instructional Technology Coordinator.
We would like to welcome Carlos Lopez, who has served as a technology specialist for the past 15 years. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Science Degree from Florida International University. He has worked in Miami-Dade schools and with the private sector. We are excited to have Mr. Lopez assist our staff and students with their technology needs.
Hochberg Prep is made up of an Early Childhood Academy, Lower School, and Middle School. The Early Childhood Academy includes the Halberstein Infant Toddler program for infants to toddler age young children, our Whitebook Bright Beginnings Program, a half day program for young children, and our nursery program (age 3) and pre-kindergarten program (age 4). The Lower School is from kindergarten to fifth grade. The Middle School includes our 6 through 8th grade.
